My journey started in a place I never imagined — behind bars. As a first-time offender, I spent years navigating a legal system that felt impossible to understand, hiring five attorneys, and ultimately fighting for my own freedom alongside them — and sometimes alone.
I witnessed countless people in the law library giving up. Not because their cases were hopeless, but because the process itself was too overwhelming to navigate without help. That experience became the foundation of Pro Se It Ain't So.
Now, with SAI, we're taking that mission further — making sure no one has to struggle alone with language designed to confuse, in a system designed to intimidate.
